I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
I just wish I'd felt better yesterday so I could have finished it. It's funny, it's weird, it's got wonderfully rounded out characters and a great variety of them as well, and the art is just so slick it makes me salivate.
The really beautiful thing about this, though, is that it continues on from the first volume, using ideas and characters from that, but with it's own arc. So far, it looks like each volume sets up a problem and takes care of it in that particular volume, making them self-contained. It reminds me of TV series, like Supernatural, particularly after the fifth season: each season has an arc of it's own, although elements from earlier seasons will sneak in alongside the characters coming back.
I really like that kind of storytelling in both TV and comic series. So I knew I loved this: the first volume was so off the wall hilarious, but this just took it a step further. I don't knw if I'll be able to take volume 3!
