I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
This book bundled a couple I'd read before - including the jaguar - and a couple I hadn't, like the panther. In the jaguar she points out that a black-on-black colored jaguar was often called a black panther. But black panthers don't exist, the jaguar book claims.
Later on, the author keeps calling some panthers black panthers. (And I'm pretty sure, given the colorization of one, that at least one pictured 'black panther' was actually a jaguar.)
Fail.
