Rant I promised...

I'm so sick of being told that stuff is just as easy as other stuff when it's not.

Here comes the rant.   I was told that when people jump from Kindle to Nook, they'd just buy their books again.   I was skeptical.   Would I?   Nope.  At least not with the e-ink Nooks.

Because with the amount of books I have on my Kindle, it would make me want to spork my eyes out on the Nook.   There's no way to get to pages.   Like on the Kindle?   You can jump to the home page, which gives you the first books on your list - by author, by title, or my favorite and only choice, by most recently read.   Which Nook, I have to literally scroll down and up.   Leaving the library then coming back?   Brings you to the last page.   I don't want to scroll through a hundred pages.   Do not want.   So I'm left waiting time and deciding not to reorgranize and this is one of the biggest issues I have.   It's the reason I rarely ever read on my Nook.

And let's please talk about Mac users.  I want to read on my MacBook Air.  I can't.   At least not unless I'm using NookStudy.   Their Mac devices are restricted to phones or tablets.   And I can't read my graphic novels on my computer, and I refuse to read them on the phone.  I need something larger, and I sometimes can't read on the phone due to migraines.   So I have less choice already.

And then there's the fact that people may not publish on Nook.  Either they believe that Amazon has a farther reach, or it's not worth it to publish on the Nook platform or whatever.  So my choices are less there.

And then the library.   Kindle library book?   I download from Amazon and sync up my device.   I need to hook up to my USB cord with Nook, but, yeah, just as easy.

The fact is that the hardware is amazing.   The software needs a lot of work, and the not being able to read my graphic novels on my computer really cheeses me off.  So, yeah, this is my rant.
