I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
I haven't been able to finish either Watership Down or Redwall, so I kinda doubted I'd like this. Then again, it was just one graphic novel in the current Humble Bundle. I really wanted the Bee and Puppycat and Robocop, and yeah, even the Planet of the Apes graphic novels. So I figured if this was a miss, I still saved a crazy amount of money.
However, this is one of my favorite graphic novels. Beautiful, historically accurate illustrations and a plot, wording and dialogue that feels true to life for ye old times? Um, yes, please. Not only that, I don't read historical for a reason - it tends not to move me, although I think it's pretty clear my interests lie more in the future than in the past. So to me, it's doubly impressive that this book kept my interest.
It's suitable for pretty much all ages, as it says in the back. Minimal violence, cursing, no sex - other than some implied sexual relationships - and it's gorgeous, moving, and worth reading. Highly recommended.
Also, one book down in the PDFs, and I'm to 137. I think I can cut it down to fifty by the end of this month. Crossing fingers.
