I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
In this world, Grimm and his Think Police are in charge of Fablewood. And the fairy tale characters are forced to play their parts in their stories, even when they've stopped wanting to tell their stories.
The most extreme example of this is Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf. You see, Red is best friends with Woof, as she calls him, and she sneaks him treats and brings him blankets in the rain so he doesn't have to sleep outside, alone, in the cold and wet. She's adorable, and so is he, as he goes out of his way to protect her as much as possible. This upsets Grimm, who is obsessed with order, and gives citations for being late to your story, or improvising lines.
I'm not familiar with the writer, but I want to read more of this story, and even more of his work, after reading this. I was aware of the artist, who has illustrated some other graphic novels I've loved. He's gotten better, and I think I might love the art even more than the writing.
Another one that I'd give more than five stars if I could. I'm just glad that my reading has been mostly a really good experience lately :D
