I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
Fast paced fun, and it includes enough backstory for all the characters to give them a pretty solid origin for those unfamiliar with them.
In particular, Cyborg. Cyborg has the longest backstory, the most solid, and he's one of my favorite DC characters for, well, obvious reasons.
Cyborg. Mmmm.
The art is by Jim Lee, so no surprise that it's probably the best of the New 52 titles that I've read as of yet.
Why only four stars, then? I like Wonder Woman better in her own title, and she feels like she's portrayed differently enough here that it's off-putting. Like, she's astounded by rock'n'roll and ice cream, when she's clearly a fan of punkish music in her own series, and knows about room service.
Yeah, sure, she knows about room service - but not ice cream. Don't buy it.
I get the feeling this takes place post her introduction in her own series, but it's rather unclear. Either way, the continuity feels messed up, so knocking off one star. Still a worthwhile read, and I'll be looking to pick up further volumes in the library.
