I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
But this is going to be another quick review so I can curl up with Dean and hit another DC graphic novel. After being shot by The Joker, Barbara Gordon has a neural implant put in that helps her walk again. She's just recovered physically, and although the nightmares seem to have tapered off as well, it's arguable that she's fully recovered from the psychologically from the internal scars of that attack.
She balances trying to find a job, having a new roommate, and her mom returning with taking up the mantle of Batgirl again. She's a wonderful, complex character, and the writing and art do her justice.
I highly enjoyed this new take on her, although I mostly knew her from the animated Batman series.
