I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
I just wanted to let people know what was happening, and to be honest about it. Congrats, STGRB! You managed to get me banned for reviews that said 'I don't like kids books'. GR decided this was 'potentially abusive'.
Alrighty then. I'm sure it didn't have anything at all to do with me not liking GR anymore. There was a legitimate review of an MT Dismuke book that they 'got' me for after I changed it to a legitimate review. It pretty much said 'this book sucked ass' just by using examples, and talking about tense changes. The others were for Sharon Reddy's book saying 'why would I want to read this when she said she wanted me dead?' Not only that, the Reddy reviews were hidden already. Keep in mind that an author called me a cunt, and was only given a warning. If you're wondering if Goodreads cares about readers, I give you these facts.
I wrote this like ten minutes after finding this out. I spent ten minutes laughing so hard I was crying before I could manage to write this.
Goodreads can kiss my ass. I'm here to stay. What did I lose? Net-nannies, and no Grimlock in my background. I lost a site that caved to the demands of bullies who doxxed, threatened, and terrorized reviewers into silence. I was, honestly, scared of leaving Goodreads, even though the evidence pointed to sloppy coding, and a blatant disregard for users safety.
Now that the decision's been taken out of my hands? I'm back to laughing my ass off.
Good riddance to Goodreads.
