Grimlock ♥ Ultra Magnus

I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.

Slight tangent about shaming...

It's been brought up that sometimes quality is a factor.

Too true.   But sometimes our brains need candy.   They need a break, they want something fluffy, or stupid, or vapid, that we don't have to think about all that much.   It's not the totality of who you are.

Seriously, try telling me that a lot of my Transformers fanfiction - soooo much pervy porn - or hell, even the Transformers novelizations are the high point in literature and I will laugh at you.   Then I'll catch my breath and laugh some more.  (But I've got a hurt/comfort thing, and I like hearing about Bee's voicebox being ripped out by Megatron because of that, so...  I still like them no matter how terrible they may be.)   Britney Spears songs have a beat I dig, even though she's not exactly producing musical masterpieces.   I know I like stupid TV but the worst one I can think about is Transformers G1.  (Which I really think is the shallowest of the Transformers continuities, with the lamer stories, no real depth the characters...   Eh.   It's pretty stupid.    But I've watched Only Human so many times because Human!Ultra Magnus is so hot, and Grimlock's New Brain so many times because Super!Smart!Grimlock is kinda hot, and other Dinobot-centric episodes more times because crazy-stupid, ragey, violent, super-powerful dinosaur robots are, apparently, the hottest thing.   Ever.)  Hell, I love rewatching Revenge of the Fallen - Tony Todd!   Mmmm!  - and Dark of the Moon despite these movies being horrible.

My main point is we all like really stupid things.   If you mock me for liking dinoporn, that's fine.   I'm confident enough to take it, and you're right - it's pretty redonkulous when you stop and think about it.   I also know it's not everything I am.   I like Moby Dick, I like Middlemarch, I like Jane Austen, I like Asimov and Gibson and Skipp and Spector, and on and on and on.   I love Bowie and Queen and Breaking Bad and X-Files and Blade Runner.   i love so many good books and and TV and movies and bands, and I'm willing to admit that I like the bad along with the good.   I'm also willing to point out which ones I think are not good, but enjoyable.

If you mock my dinoporn, I'm super okay with that.   See comments about how bad it is.   And not everyone will like, or be turned on, by what I like, or am turned on by.   If you mock the music I like, or TV I like, feel free.    In fact, I am addicted to a fan who does this with Transformers.  I've watched Dr. Smoov's SOS Wheeljack so many times.   There is so much to love, from his pointing out obvious, and huge plotholes, to Optimus Prime swearing up a storm.

But for those who are my friends, in real life, or online - I like to think you put up with the annoyances to get to whatever you find amusing or thoughtful about me. I like to think you like, or at least accept, the whole package - the good along with the bad.   If not, and if you're only here to show me the awful, awful ways of my smutty, smutty mind, then I'm afraid you'll be sorely disappointed.   I'm not very shy about saying what I think, and I'm not intimidated the moral brigade.   Mostly, I'm not about to change for you.   When, if, I do change, I'll change because it makes sense to me, and makes me happy.
