Grimlock ♥ Ultra Magnus

I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.

T-Rex: the king.

Tyrannosaurus Dinosaur: Amazing Photos & Fun Facts Book for Kids (Kids Knowledge Series) - Don Juan, Deutsche

T-Rex king.   Just like me Grimlock king.   This book made me happy,  because it was about the T-Rex, and sad because it really wasn't as brilliant as I'd hoped.   Another book for kids, but that was in need of editing.

Come, see, beyond the page break.

About the T-Rex: "As he hasn't been seen for over 65 million years, some people tihnk of him as a mythical creature like the dragon and the unicorn.   However, Barnum Brown, who first discovered fossils in 1902 have proven that he really exists."   So much fail in such a short time.  So, he still exists but hasn't been seen?   Who are these people who don't believe in proven facts?   SERIOUSLY?

Let me fix this for you - and my own peace of mind.   "As he hasn't been seen for over 65 million years, some people used to believe he was a mythical creature like the dragon or the unicorn.   However, Barnum Brown, who first discovered fossils in 1902 proved that he was real."   You with me?

"Also, the female tyrannosaurus is a more accomplished hunter.   Unlike the male, when she goes out to scavenge, she is often successful.   Her patient nature is her superpower."   Why is the male failing to bring home the bacon when *scavenging*?   Also, I feel like you're making up shit you think is cool, and then pretending it's a fact...

"The huge creature not only had bad breath: he has really awfulbreath."   So awful you couldn't pause between words?

"As suggested, the tyrannosaurus had high amounts of stomach acid."   Stop presenting suppositions as facts.

"He may have been a carnivore but he hadn't enjoyed his meals that much.   As shown in his waste, his system was incapable of breaking down the toughest animal parts."

This book angers me so much.  Because kids are going to think this dude knows what he's talking about, but so much of it is presented as fact - and yet he can't possibly know this.   So, so angry.

"To put the tyrannosaurs in paper is easier if you picture it as a lazy creature."

Grimlock says:

I'll leave you with some more WTFery:

"Then, they chew off the remaining edible portion of anyspecie."

"With fellow, he is known to exhibit complicated behavior."

"Although the tyrannosaurus can be unpredictible when he's with his pack, you can expet him to be the type that behaves properly.   In moments when there is a need to argue about food or territory, he doesn't hsesitate to speak his mind.   But, when he observes that the disputes have gone far, he instantly backs away before he may resort to killing his mate."

What.   The.  Fuck.

So, he's not predictable, but you just told us exactly how he'll react.   Also, how do you know so much about his psychology, when he's been extinct for how long?   Seriously?   No, really.   Seriously?

No, you know what?   I'm sorry, Grimlock, but this book sucked.   I just hope you don't melt off my face with your fiery, fiery breath for this.   I really found myself gritting my teeth a lot while reading this book.   Stay away is my suggestion.
