Grimlock ♥ Ultra Magnus

I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.

Loved this!

Crosswind #1 - Cat Staggs, Gail Simone

I think this was another Humble Bundle read.   Anyway, it was a lot of fun.   It was all about a hitman and a woman trapped in an abusive marriage, whose lives intersect in a completely unexpected way.   I won't give away the end of this issue, but I found myself pulled in, as I most often am when Gail Simone is writing.

The details were sometimes painful, but not gratuitously so: they were painful because showed how hard it is to get out of an abusive relationship.   The characters were well developed, and this was honestly almost all set up, but fascinating and necessary setup so I didn't feel cheated.   Even though everything set up the last couple of pages, I was into it all.

Also, so behind on reviews just adding many books and only saying things about the books that moved me a great deal either way.
