Grimlock ♥ Ultra Magnus

I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.

Love where this is going

Deadpool (2018-) #8 - Skottie Young, Nic Klein

Or not going?  i'm not sure if/when this is going to be continued, but I do hope it's soon.   Deadpool can stagnate if it's all jokes, feel like it's treading water, and this introduced an aspect from the old series that helped keep it grounded.   Because of the way that everyone, especially Deadpool, evolved, and the way that people saw him changed, Duggan's run really hit a stride and kept going without me feeling like 'okay, is there going to be something more here?'   It balanced the raunchy, the gore, the social commentary and folded in a family and character development that, I felt, made it more.

As much as I've been enjoying Skottie's run, I'd been hoping either some of that would come back, or something else would replace it.   Right now, Negasonic Teenage Warhead seemed to be the family stand in.

But seeing family and new - well, old since he mind wiped himself to protect his family and then pretty much rebooted to what he once was - Deadpool collide has been revealing.   A little painful twist, but also very fun.   I'm liking it and hoping to see more of it, honestly.

But right now I'm psyched to see that Deadpool has a valentine's day issue up next.   Deadpool and love has always been fun!
