This is this no longer relevant because it's so out of date, and it is reportedly terrible.   Like gets the continuity horribly wrong, which is awful because IDW put this out themselves specifically to go over their continuity.  

How do you get that wrong?   Especially since the writer wrote some of the Spotlights, at the very least.   I don't think he was involved in anything else, but... still.  

So, imagine my surprise when I see this: 

Which is really fucking weird, because this was not the reason they could change shapes: it was to better serve society, so all needs were met.  So this is not the reason they can change shape.   They need to disguise themselves on Earth, but why would they need to disguise themselves on Cybertron where everyone else can change and know you can, too?   This makes zero sense.   WTF, continuum?
