I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
You explain why you called yourself Apollo, which had to do with Hyacinth. Apollo turned Hyacinth into something else, something more beautiful, even better. Even with all the crap Midnighter had to deal with, Apollo believed his lover could rise above it and become something better.
Neither one is delusional about Midnighter's violent tendencies, or the amount of people he's murdered. Bad people, yes, but he still murdered them. And Apollo still hopes to show him a better way.
It's sweet, far sweeter than the fact that everyone thinks that he took his name to show off how powerful and good he is. This is a nice ending to their story for now: they're going to run off with each other and stop other bad people from doing other bad things.
But I really think they deserve an ongoing series. I love the way Orlando writes them both. To be fair, I'd even be happy with another Midnighter ongoing. He's one of my favorite DC characters right now.
