I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
There's this feeling that it's still treading water, which is why it's not a five star. I want this storyline to finally come to a conclusion. I mean, they've had an overarching storyline that's gone on for over two hundred and fifty issues. That's crazy town banana pants.
I want a real resolution.
I'll take the mini arcs - that do come to some kind of conclusions - but...
It's fun, and it's got a female herione called The Ant, who I think is some kind of Ant-Man type? I don't know for sure, but I wouldn't be surprised. McFarlane created something new with Spawn, but he took a lot of sensibilities from Marvel. Spawn, the costume, is very much like Venom in a lot of ways.
That being said, this also feels very original. I'm glad for the nostalgia factors, without this seeming like a rip-off or so similar that it bores me. It's fun seeing Simmons deal with the aftermath of Wanda's death and God's revelations. He's pretty much doing what he can, which is what I expected.
I'm also a little distracted. I lost my best - read smallest - crochet needle that I use to hook beads so I've been spending a lot of today trying to find it. Think I'll have to bite the bullet and get a new one - although I might splurge on two since they're only a couple bucks - so that I have a spare one at hand.
