I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
Someone found out what was going on. It wasn't something I messed with. It is, unfortunately, something I can't fix. I've tried e-mailing them and despite the fact that this is something they screwed around with - and something that was happening to others and that I got boned on because they fixed it fort others, but not for me - they've said that they want to focus on fixing the speed and usability of the site. (Which keeps getting slower.)
I've e-mailed Kate twice. This is clearly something that isn't going to be fixed. She's e-mailed IT and there's nothing more they can do. Ugh. I'd be less upset except that BL gets slow, then quick, then slow again, so clearly there's no headway on that and no buttons on my page.
If it bothers you, you can do a couple things. I've bookmarked BL - and have had it bookmarked far before my buttons went bye-bye. It means that no matter what, if I close everything, if I mess up, I can get to BL from everywhere.
If you want to follow me, go your friends page on the dashboard - click on it below dashboard and blog on the upper left drop down box - and you have a tab that says find friends. You should be able to search for me. I tested it with other blogs and it works well. If you really, really want to take the time, you can e-mail Kate and tell her that this is, quite frankly, not good of BL. (If they treat me this way, be forewarned, it's probably how they'll treat everyone.) I'm not outright suggesting this for a couple reasons: if it's something that you don't have the time/mental energy to do, then please don't. More than that, I don't think it'll do any good. The response has been a staggering 'we don't really care about this, and I doubt they will no matter what the response is. I will be leaving this as a comment on their page.
ETA: I posted here: http://blog.booklikes.com/post/1511065/how-to-read-more-books-in-2017-it-s-time-for-a-reading-challenge
When they post a blog, I plan on asking them this publicly. I'm lazy, so I'll cut and paste.
