I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
On one level this is a great Suicide Squad story: it focuses on one member while balancing long-standing storylines. It delves into Floyd Lawton's psyche, showing that it's impossible to kill his persona of Deadshot. HIs soul, as it were. Despite his death wish, he's unable to accomplish this.
And the whole storyline is setting him up to kill his alter ego.
The thing I don't quite enjoy is how open ended this was. This doesn't seem to come to the forefront before the series ended, and I was hoping it would: it's a fascinating side to Lawton and apparently one that is simply left in story-land limbo.
I got this during the DC 60% off line wide sale. It was in my wishlist along with War Crimes. I'm very much enjoying this sale and the titles I got, so it was worth it, even if I'm left hanging on this issue. Hopefully the new Squad title will pick up on this theme later on.
