Grimlock ♥ Ultra Magnus

I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.

So apparently I love all things Steven Universe :D

Steven Universe #1: The Greg Universe Special - Jeremy Sorese, Liz Prince, Lauren Zuke, Kelly Turnbull, Jeremy Sorese, Liz Prince, Lauren Zuke, Kelly Turnbull

Because these are all stories that revolve around Greg Universe - Steven's father - and I love them.   I love them so, so much.   Greg is kind and warm and caring and a hot, hot mess.   Yeah, he kinda has everything together: he has a job, he manages to keep Steven in his life, and stay away from all the major things that might cause strife.   He had a good relationship with Rose until she gave up her body to give birth to Steven, he doesn't drink or do drugs, and he's so sweet to everyone, I can't think of anyone who dislikes him in the show and in the comics.

So I was absolutely charmed by these comics.   I've found that some of the comics have a little more of a different style art wise - and it was the same here, with shorts written and illustrated by different writers, artists and writer/artists.  I also find that the art is sublime, and I don't mind different art styles or the style changes, but the mere thought of these characters being written poorly irks me.   Luckily, every comic I've read so far is just spot on, nailing the characters and this world.   Lovely, lovely stuff.
