I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
Doll is still running from the carnie folks, some of whom have superpowers. She tells her backstory to Hyperion, who is furious. When she takes a shower, he storms the carnival headquarters.
But what's really lovely isn't the action, but rather the way the relationship here develops. They'd been wary of each other for a while, and her story changes how he feels about her: he'd already been willing to help her escape, had felt for her, but you can sense how that changes in his actions afterwards.
Loving this! Got this in a grab bag, and may wait for the rest on MU.
Not in the mood for a longer review. I had to call a manager about a really awkward - and gross - situation yesterday and I'd basically lost faith in humanity. So despite reading this yesterday, I couldn't quite manage to bring myself to review it.
