I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
See, their mother is dead. Auran came home every day until she didn't. They didn't have time to say goodbye. One of them fought with her and wouldn't let her kiss them goodbye the day she died.
And they've been working on a plan, collecting stories about their mother and transcribing them into braille. See, Reader can make anything he reads come true. One day he read Fahrenheit 451, and his house burnt down. His town was so freaked out they blinded him so he couldn't read - except he can read braille.
So Auran's daughters beg him to read this book about their mother. He's horrified, and tells them it won't be her. It'll be a ghost, memories of her come to life. They know. They know he can't bring her back and want him to bring back something - anything - so they can say goodbye.
Because this shit always goes down well in comics...
