I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
The personal conflicts, and relationships, all come to a head, driving this group to an inevitable conclusion. There was no way that these six - no, wait, eight - could be allowed to roam free forever. More importantly, they all have flaws and make poor decisions that lead them to the superhero fight that is simply bound to come.
It's funny, it's got plenty of action, but most of all, it's enthralling to watch these people fight the bonds that keep them together even as they can't break those bonds.
Not a long review, but I feel like I've said what I have to already. I don't particularly like these people, but I can't stop reading about them. A lot in these volumes repulses me, but I can't stop reading. That's the brilliance of Gail Simone!
