So much less stressed...

I bought a new wallet:

Yes, it's damaged, but it was five bucks instead of close to twenty at Newbury comics.  I'm also angry enough that I lost my wallet that I didn't want to spend another whole bunch only to lose it again.  I figure this one is so much larger, I might have less of a chance of misplacing it.

The ATM card was not sent which was a problem, especially since I wouldn't have known if I didn't go to get money for Readercon.  I usually take paper money with me, because some places there do not take credit cards.   I was worried they would give me a problem because I didn't have a real license, and only a temporary license.   They did not.

I got my license replaced, with a new number, and got a temporary license.   My cards - both ATM and credit are coming.  I replaced my health insurance card and that will be coming, too.   My last on the list was AAA, and I got that replaced and they gave me a temporary card as well.  I was like, ugh, it didn't go through with the ATM so I might as well go in.   Right during lunch time.   It was a bit of a long wait, but worthwhile.  Since I was there, I got maps to Quincy for Readercon.   I hadn't thought of it until I was in the AAA offices, but luckily enough, I remembered, and felt less silly about waiting in line.   I felt least silly because I needed to get groceries, and Trader Joe's was right nearby.   I walked over and paid for groceries with some of the money that I got from the bank.

I have food and comics, two of the things I love most.  I don't have to worry about money for Readercon.   Is everything done?   Not at all.   I need to tail the Rocket hoodie tail back on, paint my nails, and do my laundry.   Later today - after I eat - I need to mow the lawn.   I need to eat as it's two thirty and I've been running around doing things and haven't eaten yet.

On a couple side notes: I hit my sideview mirror right before I lost my wallet.   I found mirrors online for like five to fifteen dollars; they are asking at least forty in stores.  Um, no.   I got yelled at at one auto parts place because they had no signs not to go into the backroom, which is open.   They insisted on helping me while I was on the phone; just as I was waiting for someone to come up - two people were helping one guy, one was ignoring me - the workman's comp person called me back. I have two more bills and she was, unbeknownst to me, off last week.   She hadn't gotten one e-mail from someone from my benefits department, and was shocked to hear that I had another bill.   She was calm and confident on the phone, and apparently was told she wasn't doing her job.   Of course not!   She was on vacation.   There was enough of a mix up at first that I got worried after not hearing from her, and just mentioned I hadn't heard back from Angel despite calling her a couple times.

I was kind as I could be over the phone, and I have to send her some more information.   After that, however, I am done with the most high tier important issues.   That being said, I am so much more relaxed!   I didn't put a hold on my old license number, but I feel like the ID theft is less likely than simply using a credit card which is much easier to pull off.   In other words, were I inclined to use someone else's card I had found, I would just go online and do so; I would be clueless as to how to use someone's license.   I'm worried, but not as much as I was about anything else.  I have contacted the phone number and am waiting to hear back from them; I may call again and check up in a week or so.   Maybe next Monday.   I'll wait and see.

I don't have so much to do before Readercon that it is not manageable.   I am happy with where I am right now.   I can take things into work and do Rocket's tail last minute if needed.   For now, I'm good.   Very good.

I'll see what's what in the near future, but so far, things are turning out better at the end of this week than at the end of last week.  I am content with that.

By the way, I got Peach Bellini at Trader Joe's.   Am I going to indulge?   Hell yes, because I haven't drank anything for a while, and I'm feeling like I deserve to get boozy tonight.
