I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
I couldn't read Transformers because MTMtE tends to get weird or depressing and I wasn't in the mood for it yesterday. So I pulled out Rocket and Groot, instead, and it was just what I needed: a shot in the arm reading wise!
It was exactly what I'd come to expect from this series. Funny, funny stuff, but the competition between Groot and Rocket was all about how their characters worked with and against each other. While they have the same competitive streak, they work against each other perfectly. They complement each other. I always enjoy stories about them working together more than them on solo adventures.
The art is fantastic: large and stylized and just plain fun. The colors are bright, garish even, but they all work. It all ends up feeling a little larger than life, which is how I see these two anyway.
Looking forward the next issue - kinda. Someone dies, according the preview picture. Eep!
