I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.

This is a Transformers graphic novel

Transformers Vol. 4: Heart of Darkness (Transformers (Idw)) - Ulises Farinas

It took me months to read.  And that, really, should say it all.  You know you've borked a Transformers storyline when I'm mentally whining and going 'but I don't wanna read it.'

It started with... I can't even really remember.  I kept forgetting.   That's how bad it was.   And then I was rereading the beginning each time I picked this up anew and groaning when I forgot and had to go back and reread so I didn't even this time.   I just barreled on, because the whole Heart of Darkness thing made less than zero sense.   (At some point I expected it to become so senseless that it broke some barrier and started making sense, like when something is so bad it's suddenly good because funny.

Blah, blah, blah, senseless, pointless things that I couldn't give a fuck about, and we were done.

Why one star instead of one half then, you ask.   It's a good question.   The art wasn't as good as on the current series, but it was good.   Decent, at the very least, so there was that.

Also, dammit, I read this before I was drunk.   (There was way too much socialization expected of me last night, I was already anxious before that, plus a free bar.   Which led to White Russian and then one minus the vodka.   And some white wine last night.   The shocking part is I was not slurring words.   And can still remember all the funny parts from when my brother got lightly roasted.   I should have read this later, and done the other comic first.   Because I am 100% blanking out on the title of the other comic I read* on the ride home, and I wish I could say that I remembered 0% of this.   See, the potential drunk story had a point.   Y'know, unlike this whole clusterfuck of a story.)

*I left a note for myself.   It was Spawn 42.   The details are comic back, this was much better, though not favorite.   Which means 0 drunk memory holes and one embarrassing brain fart where I blanked out on everything until I got a mental nudge.

ETA: some clarification.  It's not even booze fog; I don't have that this morning.   Maybe some pukey food poisoning.   (Although this book could be so bad I'm just not getting to literally purging it from my body which is my alternate theory.)   I think this book made me so angry I was really incoherent.   Sorry, guys.   I'm sorry if it's still incoherent.  My suggestion is to not read this and avoid the anger fog.
