I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
The basic description was a story from the Transformers: Animated comic mini-series, but with a little more. There was not that much more, and what was there didn't add anything.
Then again, this is a pretty fantastic story about Ratchet, Oilslick and chemical warfare, which is pretty gutsy for a tie-in to a kid's show. (Then again, Ratchet clearly has PTSD in Transformers: Animated, and I've always been impressed that they've managed to do that without getting an episode that would traumatize kids themselves. They balanced reality and kid friendly, and they came out with something brilliant that both children and adults enjoyed.)
Ratchet was cranky for the first time ever - truly cranky - in this series, and it bled through into Transformers Prime. I like cranky Ratchet, and with the hints of his past in the war, I found he became one of the most fascinating, and fully fleshed characters on this show. I enjoy reading about Animated Ratchet whenever I can, and this story is no exception. I do feel a bit, well, deceived by the description which made it sound like I'd get more insights to Ratchet instead of exposition telling me what everyone was physically doing.
Worth it to reread this story, but I still can't help but be disappointed that we didn't get more from this story. More Comixology Unlimited, since there's Transformers on there, and I don't own them all, and my free trial - which I've already cancelled - expires in eight days.
