I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
There's nothing really wrong with it, other than it's never quite what I except so I'm never like 'YES' about the whole thing. Not enough humor, too dark, and it's not quite, um, Deadpooly enough for me. Even the crazy things that are done - and are called out for being crazy - aren't quite what he would do.
I do like the twist, although I did also come to suspect it before the reveal. Still, I was hoping I would be right, and I'm happy I was.
The art and plot are good, and I'd really only knock off a half star for lack of humor, except this is an intermittent storyline. That is, it will continue in issue 19. Why? I'd rather have a 2099 mini-series, or this to take up a four story arc. I can't see any reason for it to be done this way, at least not yet, and it makes the story feel choppy, so that's why I knocked off the other half star.
I'm not looking forward to 13 very much either, to be honest. I've been disappointed by the ten dollar oversized comics, but I'm a completist so I bought this to keep up my Deadpool run.
