I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
I knew this series wasn't fantastic, but this one was more disappointing than I'd thought when thinking back on the other book I've read. Sideswipe was pretty out of character for a large chunk of this book, and there were some moments that just seemed to not make sense. (The communications array never seemed to be fixed by the end, either.)
Then again, there were good action scenes - quick and easy to understand. This was fairly well written from a technical point of view: no typos, and easy to read for its target age. While the illustrations weren't my favorites, they fit the style of the TV series perfectly.
I'm looking forward to Windblade in the next book, but if not for that - if not for the combination of her, Bumblebee, and Grimlock - I'd give the book a pass and return it. One more book and if there isn't a reason to continue, I won't.
