I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
I got this for free from Comixology - not as a for review thing, but as a 'promoting the Civil War freebie giveaway' thing - wondering how Battleworld would deal with this. Actually, I got it, then went, 'doh, you just bought this whole thing,' then realized it was Soule's Battleworld version. And I went sweet!
A take on this from my favorite author. And I immediately overthought this: how would Soule make something that was so complete new? The answer is to take a pivotal moment, and ask what it if had happened differently. He takes the familiar scenario, and characters, and turns it into something new, something that is really his own from a certain point on.
It's horrible to see what has happened, what could have happened, to my favorite characters, but it took a story I knew, and that I'd just read, and made it new and exciting. I'm going to see if the rest is on MU+, or perhaps buy the rest of the series if it isn't, and soon. I loved this too much to put it off too long.
