I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
I managed to read these without access to the internet, and figured I'd write the review together. First of all, I was a bit lost because I hadn't read the first issue. This was a grab bag situation that worked out not quite optimally, but I was happy in the end. I quickly got what was happening, although no doubt this would be better if I had read issue one. I get the feeling that I missed a ton of setup, and oddly enough, no 'in the last issue' page. Are we just not getting that now? Or does DC just tend not to do that at all?
Either way, I ended up loving the situation, which was a supposed utopia. Except it clearly wasn't, although Brother Eye was preaching peace and love, and had his cybernetic army spewing that - again and again and again.
Still, it made for an intriguing dystopian premise. One I could fully get behind, and was actually digging quite a bit. I may or may not wait for a sale since this wasn't one of my favorite series, but I would like to continue with this very much.
