I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
It's easy getting slaves out of their mines - until it isn't. The thing is, the actual fighting the slavers down there is easy as they're spice addicts; it's when word gets to the big boss that things become problematic. At first he thinks that it's all hallucinations - until he sees Chewie.
I can't say that I saw the ending coming, nor that I'm surprised about it in retrospect. I have less to say about this, mostly because I said a lot in my review of issue one: the art and writing is still just as fabulous and spot on, and I like Chewie just as much in this issue. I will say that this was more about action: getting in, getting out, so there felt like there was less plot and that this read quickly, more so than the first issue. That being said, the scene where Chewie flashes back to being a slave even as he's trying to break into the mine to free everyone? Just worked on every single level.
Looking forward to when more of this comes up on MU.
