I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
Not really. I mean, I wanted it to be. Spike. In an asylum. That just sounded... fun. Even with a soul, there were plenty of good ways for this to go. It was referenced in another volume and I wanted to see what that was about.
Or I thought I did. I just wasn't that into this. Spike didn't feel super in character and this felt a bit dragged out by the end. Then again, I'm in a flighty reading mood, where I've been flipping from one book to another today. So maybe it's just me.
Whatever the reason, I couldn't really get into this. I do love some of the characters they introduced here - characters I've seen, and loved, from other volumes - but it didn't make up for the lagging pace of the plot.
Might read something in paper and see if that focuses me at all.
