Grimlock ♥ Ultra Magnus

I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.

Ahura is a manipulative little bastard...

UNCANNY INHUMANS #7 - Charles Soule

He really, really is.   At least he went from being sulky to being proactive, but, yeah, I see a huge, powerful family in a power struggle now - and it's kind of freaking me out.  I feel like this is really an attempt to wrest control from Black Bolt, which I can't see him letting stand, even if Ahura is his son.

Not only that, but while Black Bolt has power, it's Ahura's mother - and Black Bolt's ex-wife - Medusa who is the queen of New Attilan.  Even thought Black Bolt is considered more powerfully physically, I figure that Medusa has more bodyguards, the royal family to back her up at a moment's notice, and that it would cause more of a ripple effect if he went after her.   In other words, Black Bolt is the easier target, and he has enough ties to the rest of the world with The Quiet Room and its services that he can be easily used to achieve Ahura's end goals.

What those are I'm not quite sure yet, and he still has me nervous given he was ruled by Kang for a while.   Are those memories completely erased?   Is he still mad at Ahura for leaving him with Kang, even though Black Bolt saw it as the only way to save Ahura?   And what will Ahura do if he does control Ennulix?

I'm eager to find out more, but unfortunately next issue promises a Medusa and The Human Torch story.  I still think the chemistry between them is lacking, that it makes little sense for them to be dating - especially since the Torch dated Medusa's sister, Crystal - and I don't like this at all.   Uncanny Inhumans has followed Black Bolt from the beginning, and while Medusa has been a part of this, I had hoped it would continue to focus on Black Bolt.   Not pleased with this announcement and preview, but I'll slog through in the hopes that there's some Black Bolt and Ahura and the Ennulix storyline in the next issue.
