Grimlock ♥ Ultra Magnus

I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.

Only vague book related/character themed gloves

I made my first gloves this color because when I bought the yarn I was in one of my Ultra Magnus phases.   It's not his exact blue, but that was the theme because...

I have list of characters I want to do: Whirl, Cyclonus, Punisher, classic red DD - I just realized I need red beads! - and the new DD suit which is black and red, and reverse Bee from Transformers Prime (black with yellow stripes.)

DD's new costume, by the way:

So black with red beads - and I need red beads!

I've just started Whirl, actually, because I'm really digging these beaded/themed gloves. I just have finished sewing and trying on the first pair of gloves.

It's my first time doing anything complicated - lace, and beads - and I've really only ever done scarves and blankets.   I'm rather proud: I kept losing the toppers on my tiny - size two, short - needles and I kept misusing the placement markers so I did it all on my own. I think it came out nice for a first try, but I'm a bit embarrassed about putting these up.  I'm sure more experienced knitters will be able to tell what's wrong with this!

So, tell me true, did I do okay for the first time?   Name a character I like enough and I'll make gloves in their themes.  I found some nice inexpensive yarn that'll work for this, so I can make tons of these.   (Three dollars a skein and one skein should make a pair.  Even if I need two, six bucks for enough yarn to make these is not bad at all.

By the way, wearing these while I'm typing them.   Love 'em just because I'm inordinately proud!

Now to go sleep off this migraine!
