I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
So it's nice to see Marvel's women take charge in Battleworld, both in A-Force, and here. Mostly because Marvel has a lot of strong women who are fully realized characters, with strengths and weaknesses of their own.
While I couldn't really get into this the first time I tried - or even this time - once I got to a certain point, it was absolutely compelling. The slow start is both unfortunate and the reason this is four stars instead of five, but once we get to the period where characters are questioning Doom - at the risk of being labelled blasphemers - things really start to get interesting. Not just because of the risk they're taking, but because of the thoughtful questions they're asking.
Looking forward to issue two.
