Grimlock ♥ Ultra Magnus

I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.

Welcome back to hell, Al!

Spawn #257 - Jonboy Meyers, Szymon Kudranski, Todd McFarlane

Al is so desperate to get his wife back, he's willing to go back to hell through The Tunnel, a place both angels and demons are hesitant to go.   I wouldn't say afraid: when Al makes it clear that he's going, Mike offers to go with him, and Violator is apparently more afraid of being without power than going to The Tunnel.

Still, demons aren't allowed to go to The Tunnel.   That's pretty much all we know about demons and The Tunnel at this point.

It's a lot of infighting, though Al needs a demon, angel, and a human to get into The Tunnel.   He's the human, Mike is the angel and Violator is the demon.   Still, with that trio, there's bound to be some infighting.

The action is them slowly getting to The Tunnel and Al fighting anyone who gets in his way.     For an issue with little action, I still loved this: I love the interaction between the three on their way, I loved the small revelations of how they were getting where they were going.

Looking forward to the next couple of issues.
