Grimlock ♥ Ultra Magnus

I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.

Yes!

Hellspawn #10 - Ashley Wood, Steve Niles

Things are prepping to come to a close: this still isn't the most fast moving comic, so, yeah, it needs about six issues to finish up.  Still, it's nice to see them laying some groundwork.

That being said, I like what's being done with Simmons/Hellspawn.

There have been references to things changing for him, and this is nice to see: he's going to get more proactive instead of reactive, and it's a nice statement on the author getting ready to wrap things up.

The Cy-Gor storyline ends, in a surprising fashion, and one that I heartily approve of, as it makes sense in this narrative, and gives Spawn more of a reason to tie things up.  And a way to do so.

A way that includes visiting a former friend who is now married to Simmons' ex-wife.   He finds he feels nothing at all for this former friend, and when Terry Fitzgerald continues to call him 'Al', Spawn responds with this:

In another issue, there was talk of things stripping away his humanity.  I'd say this settles it, as Spawn literally rejects his former life to someone who was part of that former life.

I'm eager to see what happens next.
