I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
It's just not quite as engrossing as Alias. It still has a lot of interesting ideas flying around, love a lot of the dialogue, love that Jones is taking charge, and that she's the one who needs to find Cage this time. (He goes missing early on, so it's not quite a spoiler.)
It's not that's its one dimensional, so much as Jessica Jones had so much twisted in it - twisted that was rich and complex and fully explored - that this didn't quite live up to what I'd built up in this case. The expectation didn't quite match the end product.
Still, I'm enjoying it, enough to keep reading. So there's that.
