Christmas post appears in my notification feed automatically

Here's the post.

I commented there.  I'm sick of being told to write Christmas stories - and I was basically told to suck it up and do this at one point - or that I can find Christmas themed things of anything, or being forced to endure the tedious repeat of Christmas songs every year.

I certainly don't want Booklikes peddling books about a holiday I don't celebrate to me.   It's just another school holiday, where kids paraded through school singing holiday songs. Read Christmas songs, with maybe one Chanukah song.   At least we got that.   A lot of other religions were ignored, as if they didn't exist at all.

At least when I comment on a friend's review, or post, about Christmas, I'm getting into it of my own volition.   This is yet another example of someone else's religion being shoved in my face, and no, I have no opt out of this.   Again, other religions are ignored, as if they didn't exist at all.

Twitch.

And this is why I really am not a fan of people making assumptions about me.   I don't speak about it often, but, yes, Jewish.   I have very little interest in religion.   The only reason Judaism is important to me is that it's rooted in my childhood, my past, and I find even that religion awkward and problematic, and I don't buy a lot of things about it.   I don't like the ultra religious fanatics that are Jewish and try to take over neighborhoods, for example.  I don't get the story of Job.

And yeah, my holiday is almost over.  Just a little reminder that the majority don't always represent everyone, and they don't always want to be reminded of that.   At least a nod to other religions might make me feel less like I didn't exist, or wasn't important enough for people to remember me.

It happens every year, in every single way possible over the years.   I'm sick of it.   It slowly, slowly builds up.   It was more frustrating and isolating as a child, though: I was looking in that metaphorical window while everyone else got represented around me.   And it just hasn't stopped since then.

So, y'know what, Booklikes?   Unless you want to give me that opt out button, I'd like a little bit of representation.   I'm sure a lot of others belonging to other religions would as well.   I'm not even asking for equal representation.  I know we're not as populous as Christians.    But even an afterthought would show some thought.

If you can't show me even that much consideration, I don't want to get notified about your posts in my notifications.

ETA: Clarification that this is what I don't want.

I don't get an announcement in the notifications that anyone else has posted.  I don't want to see notifications that anyone has posted Christmas stuff there.   Period.
