I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
I thought the point of Battleworld and Secret Wars was for there to be only one universe, at least at the start, but there's a continuous AU in Spider-Gwen, complete with portals to 616. I guess she was just that popular, and I'm happy: everyone is the same-but-not, and it's just a joy to watch everything come together.
I figured these were pre-Battleworld stories. (Like Deadpool Vs. Thanos, which they ran during Battleworld/Secret Wars.) That is apparently not the case now. Which means I'm both confused and happy.
While a lot of this issue is Spider-Gwen/Spider-Woman talking to Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman, it works: Gwen's trying to figure out her life, and Jess has been around longer, even though she can't get special deliveries ev men though she's technically two Avengers. (Avenger and pregnant. There's a lot of eating butter, and her commenting about her very obvious state and the fact that she still hangs out in her superhero costume.)
That being said, there's no real action in the other part of this comic. It's Gwen, her bandmate and friends, and Harry Osborn talking. Harry Osborn who froze when Peter died, who watched what he considered Spider-Woman humiliating and then killing one of his best friends. You won't believe where he got his Green Goblin gear, but I don't think you'll be surprised that he got it for revenge.
The ending to this was breathtaking. Can't wait for issue four. Maybe I should just subscribe to this series at Newbury?
