I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
I was worried midway through reading this; a mention of something in Aphrodite IX: Rebirth, Volume 2 made me wonder if I'd really be able to understand this. And while I may have made a mistake, and might understand this better if I'd read those two volumes first, this read well anyway.
I didn't feel like I didn't understand anything. Whatever I needed was explained in a sentence or two, which I understand. I'd be annoyed if I had read Aphrodite, and then got a long synopsis of what had happened in that.
That being said, I got to know this dystopian future a little better, and a little more about Aphrodite and why she and others like her were created, and how they thought. If anything, this makes me want to read Aphrodite even more.
I'm really enjoying the Top Cow volumes so far. I really have enjoyed 90% of more of what I get from Humble Bundle - and this is still up there - so I'm going to continue working my way through some of the PDFs for now.
