I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.

All-New Ghost Rider Volume 2: Legend - Felipe Smith, Damion Scott

I knew this was coming to an end, because, well, it had ended, and Ghost Racers had started up.   (I'm loving Ghost Racers, as well.)   Robbie Reyes, and Eli Morrow, are two souls in one body now: the ghost of a man living in the body of, and with, a human boy who had died.   When Eli brought Robbie back to life, they were bonded, and while many traits of this possession mirror what a Ghost Rider is, many are new.

When Johnny Blaze, another Ghost Rider, a 'true' Ghost Rider comes to explore why another one of his kind has popped up in LA, he's stunned to find that Robbie isn't really a Ghost Rider.   The sequence where Johnny asks if Robbie sold his soul to the devil and gets a candid answer?  That's just great.

Here's the thing, though.   If the Ghost Riders are really weapons of Heaven, Eli's origin as a Satanist preforming Satanic rituals - presumably - to come back to life doesn't make sense.   In truth, this isn't fully explored.   It also brings up even more questions, like are we to believe that Eli was the only Satanist ever to try this?   To come back?   Why aren't Ghost Riders everywhere, or at least more populous?

Even with this pretty glaring plothole, things are nicely wrapped up in this series, and the stories and characters are enough for me to overlook this little inconsistency.    The truth is I've been having doubts about Eli for a while, and while I believe that he's told the truth some of the time?   I'm not sure he's told the whole truth.   In fact, I'm pretty sure he hasn't.   And even if he has, I wonder if there's something about him and his situation that does make him a special case.   Perhaps it's even something he isn't aware of that allowed him to come back as he is, but I'm certainly not satisfied with the answers that are partially given here.

Still, Robbie is a great character.   This series has multiple characters who show up in almost every issue, but it's only Robbie and Gabe that show up in every issue - that I remember - and they are most definitely the focal points for this series.   Given what time they have, the other characters are as well developed as possible, but I can't say that I love or hate them.  I don't know them well enough, but they all have potential.

I do love the two that are the focus.  There's Eli, but, well, you're supposed to hate him I think.   And he's kinda just a voice, but not as charming as Deadpool's voices.
