Remember Beast Wars? Yeah, well, guess what IDW has gone into? Oh, yeah. The next colony that Winblade tries to win over? (Well, Starscream goes, too, and he kinda tries, but he's, y'know, Starscream. Which actually - and quite oddly - works out in the end.)
But this is an interesting take on Beast Wars. The characters are similar to what you expect, but also rather different. It seems to be a new take on this old mythology, and yet it all works perfectly given this universe, and is true enough to the old mythology to be satisfying. It has more politics between the characters, their society, and Blackarachnia in particular seems to be more of a full and rich characters, with more possibilities laid out before her.
And there's Dinobot. Rawr. Yes, plz, more Dinobot!
Looking forward to Windblade #7. I believe this was supposed to be a miniseries of four or so comics, but it looks like it's going to be another ongoing. Yay!
