Frank Miller gets a lot of shit for his Robocop scripts, but the truth is that the original scripts were more in line with the original. They ended up getting watered down, probably because whoever was in charge wanted to broaden the appeal.
Bad move.
This was a far more enjoyable ride than the movie, including a Transhuman character. Which, of course, appealed to me. It's violent, it tries to say something about corporations and government, mostly by skewing them with humor, and it felt grittier, and more honest, than the movie that was made.
Yeah, Frank Miller takes a lot for those, and I tended to enjoy the comics that have shown the real scripts far, far more.
