That minx!   I thought I liked Ame-Comi girls more than I really did, and it turns out that I really only liked Brainiac.   Also, must read more Brainiac.   Also, must rewatch Smallville episodes with Marsters as Brainiac.   In other words, yes to Brainiac.   Not no to everything else, I just wasn't as enamored with this concept as I thought. 

I'm glad I got this issue on sale.   It showed me that it would be mistake to binge buy all the rest of the series.   Don't get me wrong, it's not bad, not at all.  It's just not really for me unless femme-Brainiac is involved.   The art was still too garishly colored, and I still wasn't crazy about this particular style.   (Not the manga.  I love many manga, including Loveless, and would even if only based on the art.   It does help that the storyline in Loveless is brilliant, too, though.   And twisted in all the right ways.)

So, yeah, I knew the Brainiac storyline ended in issue five, but got this because there was a mention of a Brainiac storyline wrap up.   Brainiac was mentioned, but not seen.   And this was a nice transition between this storyline and the next, explaining why the Brainiac incident will lead to the next arc.   That being said, I kinda yawned at the end.   It's a well-executed AU, in which the older girls are portrayed that way, and Robin is younger and it shows.   She's well regarded, but when she mentions sleepovers, well, she gets the look. 

Understandable.   She's in high school, and while brave and strong, still has the high school experience.   Some of the other girls are in college.   Also, this bugged me, speaking of Robin:

Wouldn't those pretty recognizable highlights be a give away?   Really?  Are her parents that blind?   But, no, it's totally someone else's fault because no one would have eventually put this together.   All I'm saying is that if you're a minor with a secret identity, maybe don't make yourself stand out so it's easier for your parents to figure out who you are.   Then again, I think teens think they're that bulletproof, that no one will put this together, and that they tend to think they're safer than they really are.   It kind of makes sense that she claimed her identity via the high lights and then expects no one will notice. 

What I don't get is why no one has before now. 

Ah, well, overall, a really excellent story.   And a shame that this is the end of the Brainiac storyline, because I would have read more about her.
