I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
I'm trying to balance my goals for this month, and feeling a little overwhelmed. I've made a list: the ten books on Comixology I want to read, including some open spots. Or I should say I listed things by number, leaving most of them open. For my last goal, that of catching up on my new series, I listed all the books - and yes, I listed all almost 40 issues. It feels good to highlight more and more, and feel like I've accomplished everything with every twenty five pages I've read.
I'm also thinking of cutting down to five smaller challenges per month. I can finish those, and give myself some wiggle room, right?
That being said, this is why I'm reading the single issues right now. Well, that and I'm really enjoying them, and to be quite frank, I didn't expect that with Battleworld since I was so upset over Secret Wars. Battleworld seems to be the creators having fun with some different versions of characters. It's AU, but also not quite in my mind, possibly because I know it'll settle down and be less AU.
Star-Lord and Kitty get into a little more of a complicated relationship: they're dealing with the fact that Star-Lord knows a different Kitty, and well, she doesn't know another version of him at all. As they learn more about each other's past, they're drawn closer together. Still, Kitty is in a really tough spot, much tougher than Star-Lord thought. And he feels bad about being partially responsible, as he messed things up for her in the first issue.
I'm really liking how comfortable they're getting with each other, including the banter that's happening now.

In short: looking forward the next issue. This wasn't quite as a heart-pounding cliffhanger as Ghost Racers, but I'm no less excited about this series.
