I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.

This movie was sleek, and not just in that the illustrations were amazing, especially the credits. Those were mind-glowingly gorgeous. The story has no bloat: it tells us what it needs to, in its own time, it spends time with the characters, but everything in this is necessary.
It's also far, far more brutal than I expected. Especially one of the first scenes. And it's heartbreaking. And it's kinda beautiful and it keeps throwing you a little hope, to pretty much yank it away from you. My feelings were a yo-yo for this story.
And I loved every minute. Both times I watched it. I got a better sense of the Batman and his code, too, although I feel more than ever that I don't know him. And I want to more than ever now.
Also, new character crush. Red Hood. Partly because I had a 'crush' on Jensen Ackles a little bit before I discovered I didn't like boys, or girls, if they're all meat. It still plays havoc with m, and, yeah, my brain still wants to believe the fiction, so Ackles' voice messed around with me. A lot.
That being said, this is so, so good. I may watch it again tonight just so to give myself a reason not to read The Death of Deadpool. And because Ackles. And the story. And the art.
Watch this. I'm not a huge DC/Batman fan in general, but I would label this a must-watch movie for anyone interested in comics at all.
PS - Troy, I'm looking into getting this for my own collection. That's how much love. This is, bar none, the best comic adaptation I've seen as of yet. Win. And I really wanted it to be a Marvel movie. (Talk to me in '16. My Deadpool love may beat this out.)
