I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
I like Otto Octavius aka Doctor Octopus better as Spider-Man. Peter Parker is an awesome character, I've just liked Doc Ock more, specifically since the second Spider-Man movie. I was just touched by that portrayal.
So it's kinda a letdown that Superior Spider-Man had a relatively short run before Amazing Spider-Man came back. Having said that, it's the same author writer both series, and I like a lot of the action and humor. I like how Otto's girlfriend has to deal with Otto being gone. There's a lot here.
There's also too much punning and Parker's optimism isn't nearly as awesome as Ock's resolution to do right. Ock also has a lot more to make up for, strengthening his resolve, and I found that more tension-filled than Parker's angst about his uncle, and general do-good attitude.
Also, insta-lust is not doing it for me, so, yeah, there's that, too. I'm just not as big a fan of this as I was of Superior Spider-Man. I will continue on a bit to see if my reading experience of this improves, however.
