I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
She's sassy, she's courageous, she knows her own strengths and uses them to her benefit, she doesn't take his bullshit, she's smart, she's loyal and she feels more real. In that she has no powers, but is as interesting to me as those who do. She's just a normal girl, and yet she's so much more so that description doesn't really do her justice.
I'm starting to... not hate the Marvel Unlimited reader. As Gregor pointed out, the regular Marvel reader - the one you use with comics you pay for and keep in your library - is better. Less lag, far less sloppy, cut off panels. Series like this, however, make Unlimited worth it. I'm considering doing a full year - half off - or a year plus - free exclusives as a kit, and then 15% off comics you buy in the digital shop. Between the excellent run of All-New Ghost Rider and this perfect fun of Silver Surfer, yeah, it might be worth it to splurge and get the 15% off the newer Ghost Riders and Silver Surfers that haven't made it into the Unlimited library yet!
Having said that, this was a nice little space opera with betrayal and consumerism the two main themes fueling this five-issue tale. It wasn't pure light, as yes, it tapped into some dark stories, but it also had enough humor to balance those dark parts. It was simply a joy to read.
Looking forward to seeing what Marvel has up next. Although I find I'm enjoying the Marvel Now! titles most, especially the ones that aren't all doom and gloom.
