I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.

Maybe it's not fair to start here...

52 Week One - Mark Waid, Geoff Johns, Greg Rucka Grant Morrison, Joe Bennett, Ruy Jose, Alex Sinclair, Pat Brosseau, J.G. Jones Keith Giffen

But this was a Comixology freebie.   Paper books are giving me migraines, and I really want to read comics right now.

Anyway, this was a bit of fun: the big DC heroes - Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman - have been gone for a bit.   And the world's gone to hell without them.  This is, according to the synopsis, what happened when they were gone, the tales of the year with these heroes.   And thus 52: one week an issue, and fifty two issues to cover the year.

I've also read reviews that said this was too cluttered.   There are so many characters and storylines to go over that it gets super muddled.   I did find this to be true, especially as someone who doesn't read all that much DC.   I knew enough to get some of the references, although some of this is due to me being interested in specific characters.   (And mistakes I made ordering books through the library.)

That being said, I enjoyed the stories and characterization more than usual for a DC title, so this was entertaining enough for me to want to know what happens next.   Will I invest in these titles on Comixology?   I don't know.   It really depends.   I have interests in certain characters, who had a very minor role in this issue.   Unless I can do research that confirms that they're in the following issues more, I'm not sure I'm invested enough to keep reading.
