I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
Lovely, shorter piece set in the Otherworld universe. The first book I've read by Kelley Armstrong, it stands alone quite well. I suspect fans of her work, and this world, will like the mentions of Elena, and the larger Otherworld universe, although it's hard to tell having not read them myself.
Jamie Vegas, who speaks to spirits for real, is a television personality. She's famous for comforting those who need to speak to their dead loved ones, but also knows this isn't what will happen if she really says what the ghosts want her to say. Instead, she assures the family members that their family members, and friends, are fine, doing well, and takes care of the real business off camera. In this novella, she's convinced to work a reality show in Amityville - thus the title - for charity.
Instead of finding a rigged house, she encounters what appears to be real ghosts, who don't act like ghosts at all. She now must unravel this mystery, bring peace to the spirits, and keep everyone around her safe. It's a fun, quick ride, and I see myself reading more by this author in the future.
